Burlington, NC -- At 1533 hours on 10-03-08 the Burlington Police Department was notified of a pedestrian being struck by a motor vehicle in the driveway of 153 E. Holt St. The victim was located and transported to Duke University Hospital by life flight helicopter. The victim’s identity and condition are unknown at this time. The Burlington Fire Department and Alamance County EMS assisted on the scene. A preliminary investigation has revealed that the victim, who was standing in the driveway of this address, had a verbal altercation with several persons riding in a vehicle. During this altercation the vehicle intentionally struck the victim. The vehicle fled the scene being driven by an unknown driver. The vehicle was described as a gold/champagne colored sedan with an unknown registration plate. The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information is asked to call the Burlington Police Department at (336) 229-3500 or the Alamance County Crime Stoppers at (336) 229-7100. ************************************************************************************** Update: Upon further investigation, after speaking with witnesses, warrants have been obtained for Ricky Lee Brooks, BM/42, D.O.B. 12/5/1965, for Assault With Deadly Weapon With Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury. Brooks is also wanted out of Siler City for Felony Larceny of a Motor Vehicle. Brooks was last seen driving a 2008 Gold Ford Focus LVS-6675 in an unknown direction. The 2008 Ford Focus was reported stolen from Siler City on 10-01-2008. |
