6-13-2008 Alamance County, NC - A 9-year-old died and several others suffered serious injuries in a four-car crash on Highway 87 South at Preacher Holms Rd.
Carolina Air Care (Tarheel One, and Tarheel 2) arrived on scene and took four patients to UNC Chapel Hill, All four patients were listed as Yellow Tags. Eli Whitney Fire Department handled landingzone operations. Re-Constuction: A Ford Taurus traveling southbound on Highway 87 slowed for traffic. A Chevrolet Trailblazer behind the Taurus also slowed. That's when vehicle number three, a pickup truck, slammed into the Blazer, knocking it into oncoming traffic. The vehicle was struck head-on by a car traveling northbound on Highway 87.
