Update On June 12,2008 at 1238 hrs, officers responded to a reported shooting in the 1100 blk of Jackson St. in Burlington. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, Allante Reatta Donnerell Murray, B/M/17. Murray was lying next to his moped in Jackson Park, a small park located between Jackson St., Key St, and Rauhut St. Murray suffered from at least one gunshot wound to the torso. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was transported by helicopter to Duke Hospital. Duke Lifeflight left Jackson Park at 1:18 in route to Duke Hospital. While in route, Murray died as a result of his injuries. This is an ongoing investigation. Police are currently looking for a silver or burgundy compact vehicle occupied by a B/M with dreadlocks. This vehicle was seen by witnesses leaving the scene shortly after the shooting. At this point investigators wish to speak to the driver as a potential witness.
