Burlington, NC - A tractor trailer carrying furniture items along I85/I40 South had its brakes to catch fire Wednesday afternoon. Several attempts were made with fire extinguishers however the fire spread to the trailer portion causing smoke to bellow accross all lanes of the interstate. The drive disconnected his rig from the trailer and pulled it about 100 yards ahead of the trailer. At one point the whole south bound side was shut down to protect the firefighters.
