Burlington, NC - All lanes on Interstate 40/85 in Alamance County were blocked after a serious accident just after 11:30..

A car driven by 78-year-old Emma Hammos of Whitsett was leaving IHOP on Huffman Mill Rd when she drove down the wrong exit ramp. She was heading the South in the northbound lanes.

A tractor-trailer driven by Ricky Outlaw of New Bern tried to avoid Hammo's car and ended up crashing into the concrete median divider.

Both drivers were taken to Alamance Regional Hospital. Hammos was treated for bumps and bruises. Outlaw escaped without injury.
