Final Call Audio GRAHAM — Charles Norton “Butch” Harrington Jr, 59, of 121 West Gilbreath St., died at 7 a.m. Saturday, August 18, 2007, at Alamance Regional Medical Center. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Graham. Retired from the Graham Fire Department with 33 years of service, he was a former Treasurer, Captain, and Assistant Chief. He Received Fireman of the year in 1980. He retired as Assistant Chief. He was a past member of the Graham Rotary Club, and was a past president in the year of 1980-81. He was awarded Paul Harris Fellow by Rotary International. Butch was a member of the Planning and Zoning Board with the City of Graham, and was currently serving as Chairman. He was a 1965 graduate of Graham High School, attended Appalachian State University and graduated from Elon College with a degree in Business Administration. He enjoyed numerous hobbies including golf, fishing and NASCAR racing. He was an avid supporter of Graham High School Athletics Booster Club. He Enjoyed taking trips to the beach, listening to beach music and his family considered him a master of the grill. Survivors include wife of 35 years, Cathy Euliss Harrington of the home; sons, Charles N. “Chase” Harrington, III and wife Kristen of Burlington and John Bascom Harrington of Graham; brother, David M. Harrington and wife Judy of Burlington; mother-in-law, Gaynell Younts Euliss of Graham; special Miniature Dashund, Cadee; and loved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Norton Harrington, Sr. and Helen Moore Harrington and father-in-law, John F. “Butch” Euliss. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Graham, with the Rev. James L. Rosser and the Rev. Darryl Peebles officiating. Burial will be at Graham Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home in Graham from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight and other times at the residence.
