Ellen Ruth Toy Alfred-Russell, 40, of 2418 Adams Farm Court, died Friday, July 20, 2007, at Duke Regional.

Survivors include parents, Paul and Judy Toy of Exeter, R.I.; husband, Charles Russell; daughters, Lauren Alfred, Mariah Alfred; son, Adam Russell, all of the home; sisters, Karen Toy, of Wakefield, R.I., and Linda Sessa of Madison, Conn.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday July 23 at McClure Funeral Home in Graham and other times at the residence.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University Medical Center, DUMC, P.O. Box 3624 Durham, N.C. 27710 or Loaves and Fishes, 509 S. Lexington Ave., Burlington N.C. 27215

When I get where Im going
Ellen you were a great person. I remember how all the kids loved you being their substitute teacher at Sylvan Elementary. Hearing the kids ask is "Bob" coming today, meaning was Charles coming today :). I will always remember you for your dedication to your family, helping others in your community, your service to the Snow Camp Fire Department. Thanks for the memories..
