Alamance County, NC – High winds toppled trees throughout North Carolina leaving over 100,000 residences without power. AN INTENSIFYING STORM SYSTEM WILL CONTINUE TO STRENGTHEN OFF THEMID ATLANTIC COAST TODAY. STRONG WINDS OUT OF THE NORTHWEST WILL INCREASE FURTHER AND REMAIN STRONG AND GUSTY THROUGH 9 PM THIS EVENING. Highway 49 (Maple Avenue) was totally blocked from numerous trees being blown over. Alamance County 911 Communications Center lost power, and had to place a communications tower in Swepsonville on generator back up. Send us your report from your neighborhood..pictures are a plus.
