Station 2 (AO) responded to a MVA involving 2 vehicles a small pickup and a car. The car hit the back end of the truck, lost control veered off the road hitting a power pole which sparked a grass fire aprox 100' away from the accident scene. 4 patients in total treated. Power was out in the area for at least 2 hours.

87 South Motorcycle MVA |

Alamance County, NC - Eli Whitney (Station 5) was dispatched to highway 87 south with a report of a traffic accident involving a motorcycle. A witness to the accident told us that a car driven by a female pulled out from a small car lot on 87 into the path of the motorcycle. The male driver of the motorcycle tried to take evasive action, as he swerved the driver of the car also swerved to try to avoid the motorcycle. The car hit the motorcycle sending the driver onto the ground. Alamance County EMS unit 112 rushed the male patient to the University Of North Carolina Medical Center in Chapel Hill. Units on scene were Alamance County Sheriff’s Department, Station 5 ( Eli Whitney), Alamance County EMS, Alamance County Medic 1, Alamance County EMS Supervisor 101, and NCSHP (investigation & report). |

Graham Stove Fire |

On Tuesday, August 21st around 1pm Graham Fire Department was dispatched to an apartment complex at 430 Kernodle Dr. in Graham reference to a structure fire. Swepsonville Fire Department was doing cover in for Graham when the call came in. Responding units included Graham Engine 3, Swepsonville Engine 1, Graham Engine 4, Graham Tower 1, Graham Police, and Alamance County EMS. The first Graham fire unit on scene reported smoke showing from a first floor apartment. Graham Engine 3's crew brought an attack line through the front door while simultaneously Swepsonville Engine 1's crew initiated a primary search within the two bedroom apartment. A small stove fire was extinguished and fire damage was limited to the stove-top and the immediate kitchen area of the apartment. The primary and secondary search by Swepsonville's crew was completed; there were no occupants inside, however two pets were rescued and suffered no injuries. Graham fire set up a positive pressure ventilation fan and the smoke was cleared from the residence. Alamance County, NC - A transformer from a duke power pole ignited a grass fire along Perry Rd in Eli Whitney Monday afternoon. A resident on Perry Road told us that they came outside and seen the fire coming along the road from the direction of the downed pole.

87 North Traffic Fatality |

Alamance County, NC - A 59-year-old Gibsonville man was killed as a result of a traffic accident on Highway 87 North near the Caswell County line Monday afternoon. Station 2 quickly extinguished approximately one acre of grass that was on fire due to the power lines being knocked down from the impact of the crash. On scene units were A-O Station 2, Station 13 Mutual Aid, Station 7 Mutual Aid, Alamance County EMS, Highway Patrol, Caswell County EMS, & Cherry Grove FD.
