Alamance County, NC – A call was made by a frantic mother to Alamance County 911 that her 19 year old son had threatened her with a gun after an argument ensued. When the mother made the call to 911 her son ascertained who she was talking to.  He stated to her that he was going to his room to get his gun.  The 911 dispatcher instructed the mother to evacuate the residence for her own safety while the call was being dispatched to the proper authorities.

The Alamance County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to the scene and proceeded to evacuate the nearby residents.  Several attempts were made by the deputies on the scene to communicate with the male party to no avail.  At this point the SERT team was called in to attempt to bring the situation to a safe and peaceful end.

A command post was set up at the Road House 54 along with the Alamance County EMS personnel.  EMS personnel staged at the scene as a safety precaution for law enforcement personnel as well as to be readily available to administer medical treatment as quickly as possible to any possible victim.  As the attempts to get the male to vacate the premises failed, the SERT team entered the residence and initiated a room to room search.  Upon entering the residence the body of a 19 year old male with what appeared to be a self inflicted gunshot wound was discovered.
