Alamance County, NC - Several traffic accidents keep rescue, fire and police busy on Christmas morning. Around 11:00 a.m. Christmas morning Alamance EMS, Alamance Rescue, E.M. Holt Fire, Alamance County Sheriffs Office and the NC Highway Patrol responding to a accident on Belmont Mount Harmon Road at Southern High School Road. A single vehicle accident claims the life of the female driver of a 2003 Dodge Ram Pick-up.

Fire Kills 2 in Burlington Print

BURLINGTON, N.C.-  (12/18/2006) A single-story house fire on Elderwood Lane near the intersection of Highway 64 and Mebane Street claims the lives of 2 women Monday evening. Burlington Firefighters fought hard despite the heavy fire and smoke to search for the two women. The firemen tried an initial rescue attack on the fire to try to locate the two reported residents. With concern for the fireman’s safety, Command requested all units to back out. There were several safety issues that the Burlington Fire Command handled perfectly to assure no firefighters were injured.

Chase ends with crash Print

Haw River, NC – (12/18/2006) Haw River Police chased a subject suspected of breaking and entering through Alamance County early Monday morning. At one point he tossed money out the window at pursuing officers.  Chase ended in a crash with a Burlington Police Officer’s Patrol Car when the suspect rammed the officers car  on Melody Lane. After impact the police car caught on fire. A Burlington Police Officer had minor injuries from this crash, and the suspect was confirmed D.O.A.

Burlington NC - A hit and run of a pedestrian occurred at 718 Mitchell Street just outside of Burlington’s City limits early Tuesday Morning. The suspect’s vehicle was reported as a 1999 Black Mazda. The driver was described as a 25-year-old white female. Patient suffered a cut to the back of the head. No other life threatening injuries were reported. Patient was taken to Alamance Regional Medical Center for evaluation. Suspect Mandy Lynn Quigley was placed in custody at 2:10 am by the Alamance County Sheriff's Department..
