Two firefighters died this morning, one at the scene of a huge fire at Salisbury Millwork and another later at the hospital, officials say.

Another firefighter has been flown to the University of North Carolina Hospital for treatment of burns and several other firefighters were injured.

The fire started in the office at Salisbury Millwork on South Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue spread this morning. The plant is a total loss.

The city of Salisbury will have a press conference later today to discuss the fire.

The five-alarm fire drew virtually every department from throughout the county, with calls continuing thoughout the morning for additional help.
